I was wondering if it would be possible to get the read-only Subversion access for active customers. It could speed up the development.

Thanks.

Sorry, I'm not an expert as SVN so I can't be sure if I open it up that I might end up compromising something. So, to be on the safe side, I don't intend to open it up just yet.

There are not problems in granting the read-only access since users cannot commit, delete, etc.

You do know I rely on people not being as clever as you, don't you?

In addition to the reason I gave above:

Jomres has changed from a proprietary license to a GPL license. Pre-December 2009 purchasers will continue, as per the original agreement, to have lifetime support and upgrades, but newer customers do not. Instead they're limited to 3 months (12 weeks, to be precise) support and upgrades, however the existing upgrade framework doesn't allow me to enforce this. It's something that I must add (soon).

If I open up the svn, then any enforcement I put into play will be useless as people will be able to upgrade without paying for a new license for Jomres.

Couple these two reasons and you'll see why I don't want to open the svn for readonly access.

without paying for a new license for Jomres.

This is beginning to annoy me. Users are no longer purchasing "licenses" to use Jomres, instead they're purchasing the download and support, however both my clients and I are still referring to purchasing licenses.

I think it's going to take a while to get us all out of this habit.
